The first nighttime worship ever is open on December 24 and 31 at the Yuan-Dao Guan Yin Temple since its opening in 2000; visitors can take the Path of Guan Yin Bodhi from Yuan-Dao Guan Yin Temple to the Thousand-Hand and Thousand-Eye Guan Yin Bodhisattva by starlight along with landscape lamps. Both temple campuses will be lighted and illuminated to offer a dreamlike vibe for you to worship, very different from the daytime. Light beams representing Guan Yin’s compassion will be projected into the night sky, symbolizing prayers reaching straightforward to Heaven. Thousand-Hand and Thousand-Hand Guan Yin Bodhisattva at Tamhsui is the biggest stainless sculpture in the world recognized by the Guinness World Records; which has become a new landmark for the northern Taiwan. This record in fact is not just significantly meaningful for the Buddhism history, but also an important metrics for the global architectural history.

Yuan Dao Guan Yin Temple will launch a “Hand in Hand Marketplace” for the weekend of Christmas and the New Year holidays, to embrace visitors and worshipers with a warm and happy vibe!

The event to celebrate the New Year is the best rite for ringing out the old year and ushering in the new year. Yuan Dao Guan Yin Temple is located at a tranquil place free of the hustle and bustle; the spacious garden is perfect for celebrating the New Year in a warm aura with families and friends. The ritual consists of the supplication of Lucky Charms, the bell striking for blessing, fireworks, and offering the first incense for the coming new year.
